Mónica Meira is a painter, draughtswoman, and printmaker born in London, of Argentine descent and, based in Colombia since an early age. She studied Fine Arts at the Universidad de los Andes and furthered her training in painting and printmaking at New York University (NYU). Since the late 1960s, she has developed a solid artistic career, participating in solo and group exhibitions in Colombia and abroad, and receiving recognition in various national and international salons and competitions.
Her work moves across different visual languages, ranging from pop to figuration and landscape, with a sustained focus on portraiture and the human figure.
