Helena is a Bogotá-based artist and cook. She studied art and culinary arts at different moments in her life, and both disciplines are deeply intertwined in her artistic practice.
Her work is built through experimentation with a variety of materials and crafts: drawing, painting, woodworking, and cooking become both languages and methods of making. Through manual, repetitive, and sensory processes, she explores the transformation of matter, where acts such as cutting, mixing, assembling, and intervening play a central role in the construction of meaning.
Nature is a constant source of inspiration in her work, partly due to her close connection to the countryside, which informs both the way she observes the world and the way she creates.
